You dreamt of a studio which has the ideal mix of class surroundings, quality equipment and professional services for a seamless and fun experience? Others had the same dream too. That dream became Sounds.
The potential and desire is there. But often, Mauritian talents do not have access to quality studios. To provide both professionals and amateurs with state of the art facilities and services, Alain Meunier, Laurent Fourcade, Stéphane Mussard and Vincent Mialle teamed up to launch Sounds.
The four-room studio, set up at La Pirogue Hotel, is of European standards. That is not, however, what will attract your attention at first sight. That prize goes to the huge bay window of the 70m2 main studio, with a view over the lagoon. Like it, every little detail of the set up at Sounds has been carefully thought out and executed with precision and artistry.
For Vincent Mialle, sound engineer and one of the co-founders, “it is hard to imagine a studio with a seven-metre bay window. And yet, we managed to get it done without taking anything away from sound quality. The equipment is of European quality and meets European standards.”
What also sets Sounds apart is the variety and novelty of services offered. Professionals can book the whole studio or what they need for specific recordings. And amateur artists can be stars for a day and spend time in the studio. They can come alone, be accompanied, ask to be accompanied on the acoustic piano, or choose to do it karaoke-style. Video recording of the sessions is also an option.
