“A wedding is a memorable event, filled with joy and love. We want to offer our clients the widest of choices. The most important thing is to understand what they want. Then we will work hard to make sure we fully respect their wishes,” she says.

Modern technology and social platforms have changed the way photographers and videographers work. “Today, videos are shorter than before. People mainly want to see the highlights of the wedding. The job is quite different, and we often need a whole team instead of just one person,” adds Sachin Aubeeluck.

Nabilah Rawat: The bride’s beauty secret
Tell us about your experience as a make-up artist for weddings.
Make-up artistry is wide-ranging. Being a freelancer, I have worked in many areas of this industry: from runway make-up to avant-garde, event make-up, commercials and bridal make-up. Wedding day is the most important day of a woman’s life. Everything is expected to be perfect. Having been a bridal make-up specialist for more than a year, I have picked up on a lot of different tips to keep the bride focused and calm.
How did you become a make-up artist?
I was always extremely passionate about make-up, always researching and experimenting from a young age. After high school, I went to the UK to follow make-up courses. Upon completing them, I had a new level of appreciation for the make-up world and I could see myself pursuing it as a career.
What is your approach to your clients?
Your wedding day is your special day and few mistakes are allowed. Preparation is key! I strongly suggest my clients book a trial prior to the wedding to discuss, explore and set a definite look for the wedding. I offer my clients hand-picked premium products from worldwide brands. Each product used on my clients is a product that I personally chose and love.
What special touch do you bring to that special day?
As a make-up artist, I am very meticulous in my work. I make it my duty to ensure that the bride’s make-up is on point! A happy bride makes a happy wedding.
Why is Mauritius a dream destination for weddings?
Having worked on brides overseas, I must say that Mauritius does bring a more paradisiac feel to a wedding. The island is truly beautiful with sandy beaches, botanical gardens and tropical flora. Mauritius makes for the perfect destination wedding location.
